A full home inspection is $450 for homes up to 1,500 square feet, $500 from 1,501 to 2,500, $575 to 3,500 and $650 from 3,501 to 4,500. Above 4,500 square feet it is $650 plus $50 for every additional 500 square feet. Radon testing is $175 added to the same visit. The median Elizabethtown home we inspect is 2,010 square feet, which is the $500 tier. There is no travel charge to Elizabethtown.

The EPA places Hardin County in Radon Zone 2, meaning a predicted average indoor screening level between 2 and 4 pCi/L. Several counties we serve — Bullitt, Nelson, Jefferson and Taylor — are Zone 1, with a predicted average above the EPA's 4 pCi/L action level. Zone maps predict county averages, not any individual house, which is why the EPA recommends testing the specific home.

Inspections follow the InterNACHI Residential Standards of Practice and cover the roof, exterior and grading, structure and foundation, attic, insulation and ventilation, heating and cooling, plumbing and water heater, electrical service and panel, interior doors, windows and stairs, built-in appliances, and the garage. You receive an electronic report with HD photos.

Not within 30 miles of our office. Beyond that it is $3.00 per mile each trip, one way, rounded to the nearest $5. Radon is two trips, so it is double. We tell you the travel figure before you book, and discounts never apply to it.

A camera run through the main drain line from the house to the street or the septic tank. It finds breaks, bellies, offsets and root intrusion that a standard inspection cannot see, because the pipe is underground. It is most worth adding on homes built before 1980, homes with mature trees near the line, and any house on septic. It is $250 added to a home inspection and runs during the same visit.
